Design of a Triodelike Electron Gun for Millimeter-Wave Gyrodevices
A computational study has been created on the design of a one hundred fifty-kV triodelike switchable electron gun. A sleek magnetic cusp arrangement was used to supply an axis-encircling beam. Numerical optimization of this arrangement led to a gun design that produced beam parameters of $I_b sim hbox6 hboxA$, $alpha = hbox1.2$, and $dalpha sim hbox15p.c$. It's additionally been shown that this triode design can produce beam suppression at $sim$two kV while not interfering with the beam parameters below operation conditions.
