Triple-Band Antenna With Shorted Annular Ring for High-Precision GNSS Applications

ABSTRACT:

In this letter, we have a tendency to propose a triple-band stacked circular-polarized patch antenna style that covers all International Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) bands (one.16six-1.289, 1.554-1.612, and a couple of.482-a pair of.502 GHz). The mutual couplings among 3 bands decrease the performance of radiant potency. To handle this drawback, we tend to adopt 2 shorted annular rings, which are fashioned with circular array of via. Furthermore, to extend the impedance band at low L-band, we tend to adopt a four-L-probe feeding configuration. Compared to other reported GNSS antennas, the proposed antenna covers all GNSS band, possesses a lot of better gain pattern and phase center performance, and is appropriate for high-precision GNSS applications.
