Device-to-Device Communication in LTE-Advanced Networks: A Survey


Among the LTE-A communication techniques, Device-to-Device (D2D) communication that is outlined to directly route information traffic between spatially closely located mobile user equipments (UEs), holds nice promise in improving energy potency, throughput, delay, also spectrum potency. As a mix of ad-hoc and centralized communication mechanisms, D2D communication permits researchers to merge along the long-term development achievements in previously disjoint domains of ad-hoc networking and centralized networking. To assist researchers to own a systematic understanding of the emerging D2D communication, we give during this paper a comprehensive survey of available D2D connected research works starting from technical papers to experimental prototypes to standard activities, and define some open analysis issues that deserve any studies.
