Ultrawideband Planar Dipole Antenna With a Modified Taegeuk Structure


This letter presents an ultrawideband (UWB) planar dipole antenna. The initial style of the proposed antenna is patterned when the “taegeuk” structure, that has two curves and a one hundred eighty° rotational symmetry structure. To attain UWB impedance matching, the curve of the structure was changed into a tapered curve, and the feed gap was controlled. The measured -10-dB S11 bandwidth was more than fifty:one (over zero.2-10 GHz). The antenna size was 450 mm ( zero.threeλL) × 540 mm ( zero.thirty sixλL), where λL is that the free-area wavelength at 0.2 GHz. The length of the designed antenna was miniaturized by twenty two.8percent compared to that of a [*fr1]-wave dipole antenna at zero.a pair of GHz.
