PROJECT TITLE :

A Simple Polarization Reconfigurable Printed Monopole Antenna

ABSTRACT:

A straightforward polarization reconfigurable printed monopole antenna is proposed for wireless applications. Conducting strips are used to attach to the bottom plane providing the required extra modes for circular polarization. Linear polarization, right-hand or left-hand circular polarization can be realized using solely 2 PIN diodes, which connect to the bottom plane, minimizing their result on radiation characteristics. The mechanism is described, and key antenna parameters are studied and optimized. The antenna is prototyped and tested for all polarization configurations.
