Reconfigurable Multiband Extended U-Slot Antenna with Switchable Polarization for Wireless Applications

ABSTRACT:

??????This paper proposes a reconfigurable multiband extended U-slot antenna with polarization diversity for wireless applications.
The antenna is in a position to modify among linear polarization (LP) and left-hand (LH) and right-hand (RH) circular&#thirteen; polarizations (CPs) for 2.four-/5.8-GHz wireless native area network (WLAN) systems. The antenna consists
of an extended U-slot patch with changed ground plane and two p-i-n diodes to change the slots at ON- and OFF-states.
The p-i-n diodes are appropriately positioned to vary the length of the slot arms, that alters the antenna's polarization&#thirteen; with frequency diversity to control in four states.
