Selection of semiconductive coatings at different ambient temperatures
Anti- and de-icing techniques for the facility systems have been engaging topics in recent times. Semiconductive silicone rubber coatings have been thought of and applied in a few regions of China. This paper focuses on the matter of selecting semiconductive coatings underneath totally different ambient temperatures. In order to pick out the semiconductive coatings, the amount resistivity of the coatings doped with numerous carbon black concentrations was 1st tested. Then a series of icing/anti-icing tests on bottom-coated insulator strings were carried out in a very climate area, where their antiicing performance was studied in terms of icing look, ice accretion weight, leakage current and surface temperature. The results show that when the ambient temperature is -a pair of, -4 and -vi °C, the coating resistivities needed to stop ice accretion on the insulator strings tested are presented in this paper.
