Challenges with Optically Transparent Patch Antennas


In this paper, antennas created out of transparent conducting oxides (TCOs) are explored. The optical transparency of clear conducting oxides is achieved through skinny-fi lm depositions on substrates. But, thin-fi lm depositions create a brand new set of electrical challenges that need a full understanding of semiconductor physics. This work appearance into the governing equations that limit lightweight transmission, absorption, and reflection through a clear conductor, together with the electrical conductivity and antenna potency of clear-conducting-oxide thin-fi lm patch antennas.
