Efficient frequency-hopping synchronization for satellite communications using dehop-rehop transponders
A simple and economical method of frequency hopping synchronization for the dehop-rehop satellite transponder is proposed. This methodology enables simultaneous synchronization of the up- and downlinks through 2 steps solely, which minimizes the acquisition time. The mean acquisition time of the tactic is mathematically derived and simulated. A comparison with typical methods confirms the effectiveness of the proposed technique. In addition, synchronization failure because of the drift of the satellite will be resolved.
