Guaranteeing Heterogeneous Bandwidth Demand in Multitenant Data Center Networks

ABSTRACT:

The power to produce guaranteed network bandwidth for tenants is essential to the prosperity of cloud computing platforms, as it is a important step for providing predictable performance to applications. Despite its importance, it's still an open downside for economical network bandwidth sharing in an exceedingly multitenant setting, especially when applications have numerous bandwidth needs. Additional precisely, it's not only that totally different tenants have distinct demands, but additionally that one tenant might want to assign bandwidth differently across her virtual machines (VMs), i.e., the heterogeneous bandwidth needs. During this paper, we have a tendency to tackle the matter of VM allocation with bandwidth guarantee in multitenant data center networks. We 1st propose an online VM allocation algorithm that improves on the accuracy of the present work. Next, we tend to develop a VM allocation algorithm under heterogeneous bandwidth demands. We conduct intensive simulations to demonstrate the efficiency of our methodology.
