Geometric dilution of precision for bearing-only passive location in three-dimensional space
Geometric dilution of precision (GDOP) could be a measurement of localisation accuracy in bearing-only passive location. But, the present GDOP expression is obtainable only for 2 dimensions; whereas GDOP is widely adopted in spatial application, consequently, the explicit GDOP expression in three-dimensional (3D) area using the Cauchy-Binet formula springs. The derived GDOP expression is used in 2 examples, which shows that the localisation accuracy is plagued by each the quantity of sensors and therefore the observation geometry.
