PROJECT TITLE :

Looking Back at Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuits

ABSTRACT:

When I was approached to contribute an article to this issue commemorating the 60th anniversary of the MTT Society, I asked myself, what in the world could I contribute 20 years into retirement? But when the MTT Historical Exhibit on monolithic microwave integrated circuits (MMICS) was mentioned, it all became evident to me. It was in 1986 that a member of the ADCOM suggested that such an exhibit would be appropriate for display at the yearly international symposium and asked me whether I would be interested in setting up such an exhibit. It was a reasonable request considering that I was a contributor to the MMIC field from the beginning and that some five years earlier I had the honor of completing a year as the National Lecturer on the subject.
